Monomer and skin contact
Liquid monomer is a potent solvent that is highly volatile and flammable. The monomer should not be allowed to come into direct contact with the skin or with rubber gloves. Rubber gloves do not protect against monomer!

To minimize contact with the bone cement, a modern closed vacuum mixing system should be used. As an additional precaution, special gloves should be worn for the cementation.
