Closed Mixing and Delivery system
Modern vacuum mixing systems remain closed up until cement delivery. All ingredients are added and mixed while the system is closed. The mixing and delivery of the cement should be performed with the same cartridge.

The Optivac is perhaps the best known modern closed vacuum mixing system. Monomer (MMA) exposure when using the Optivac has been measured to barely detectable levels. This is far below the safe limit established by law. The closed system of the Optivac ensures the quality of both bone cement and working environment.
